The island and the chapel were raised in the form of gratitude to Our Lady for the healing of one of the two brothers who found their Lady's image there. On the rocks (the dagger) in front of Perast brothers Martešic, on July 22, 1452, they found the image of Our Lady. Throughout the centuries, the landowners have sunk the stone and, by immersion, sail the old island, and the chapel was erected on the rocks where the Lady's image was placed. By the beginning of the seventeenth century, about a hundred ships were flooded, including captive Turkish ships.
